The Funeral of Art Pieretti, Sr.

The Pieretti family home was built by Mr. Pieretti in 1952.  It was an honor to be a part of this family milestone.  From the moment I arrived at the house in Glendora I was overwhelmed with memories of Mr. & Mrs. Pieretti as a beautiful couple with love for one another and love for their children.  The time during the funeral and celebration was a true testament to a life well lived and a life that will be well remembered.  Over and over during the two days, people kept saying the same thing about Mr. Pieretti, "he was a good man!"  I think he heard the same comment when he got up to those pearly gates.

Christopher and I drove down to California to attend the funeral. Eighteen hours each way was a true test of our friendship . . .when we arrived back home after ten days we were closer than ever.  W e talked about everything during our drive, listened to music, stopped at interesting places.  At one point when we were about an hour from San Jose on our way home, Christopher picked up my phone, logged in to youTube, searched for a song and played Dionne Warwick's Do You Know The Way To San Jose?  With my phone connected to the speakers in my car we sang our way along.  That started our search for songs along memory lane, his lane and mine.  What fun we had searching for long lost songs that Christopher easily found on youTube.  We drove along the California and Oregon coast and shared the beauty of our God's world.  What a wonderful time we had together.
