A Good Read or a Good Listen!

I just finished listening to the audio book Personal Reflections of Joan of Arc by Mark Twain.  Twain considered this to be his best and most important work.  Indeed it is clear throughout the book that he just adored this lovely, young peasant girl.

In his own words Mark Twain says, "I like Joan of Arc best of all my books; and it is the best; I know it perfectly well. And besides, it furnished me seven times the pleasure afforded me by any of the others; twelve years of preparation, and two years of writing. The others need no preparation and got none."

I highly recommend this book for Twain's beautiful writing and his dedication to accuracy, but mostly for the insight into how God used this young girl to do great things for her beloved France.
