Thanksgiving week brought an enormous amount of snow across the state of Washington. Coeur d'Alene experienced over 14 inches of snow with temperatures in single-digits and 22 mph winds. The Bresee family made the wise decision to stay close to home and not venture out to Grandma's house across the frozen tundra. We will miss spending the holiday with them but we are content knowing they are safe from the icy roads.
The Gabalis family is enjoying their winter wonderland by sledding down the steep hill in their yard and making snowmen. Leo is on vacation this week and is spending lots of time with the kids. Colleen will prepare the Thanksgiving dinner. Bob and I will throw the chains on the tires and attempt to make our way to Duvall. I had intended to take pictures of the grandchildren all together on Thanksgiving and post them here. It will have to wait till Christmas . . . God willing!
Below is a picture of the chicken that usually looks out at all the grandchildren playing in the yard. Now, he is covered in snow and looks quite lonely! Cheer up, little chicken, the kids will be back in the Spring!
