Maria and Marie

Maria and Marie enjoy a great friendship.  It is so cute to see them off in a corner of the house playing dolls or just visiting.  Below is a picture taken during Elena's recent visit during Spring break.

Lunch with Christopher at Blue Sky Ranch

Today I drove to Index to have lunch with Christopher. Last week he took down about twenty-five very large trees on his property and I wanted to see the change. The rain surprisingly stopped just as I drove up Christopher's driveway.  The sun was shining down so brightly and the blue sky was now so visible where once stood the dense trees. With Christopher's artistic touch he seemed to have taken down just the right trees leaving still a feeling of being in the forest. As we walked the property he talked about the many projects he has planned to make Blue Sky Ranch the perfect spot for weddings, reunions, family gatherings and romantic getaways. Christopher continues to amaze me with his ability to build, fashion, carve and create against the magnificent backdrop of the Skykomish River and the Cascade Mountains. A visit to Blue Sky Ranch, even for a few hours, leaves one refreshed and rejuvenated. May I also add that the pizza he made for lunch was fabulous! Thank you Christopher for a wonderful afternoon.

Happy 9th Birthday

Rose celebrated her 9th birthday with her friends Olivia and Rachelle.  The girls played games, manicured their nails, played with their American Girl dolls and ate pizza.  It was a fun birthday party for a sweet girl.  Rose, Colleen and Grandma attended the ballet, Don Quixote, on Sunday as a birthday present from Grandpa and Grandma.  It was a wonderful performance and a memorable evening.

Snow in Seattle

Last Saturday the snow started falling and it has continued for almost a week.  We have over 12 inches of snow and there is no way to drive down our hill.  Good thing we are well stocked with groceries and good books to read.  But, enough is enough, it is time to get back to normal.  Rain is predicted today and I am hoping it will wash all this beauty away.

Bracelet Christmas Project

Shortly after Thanksgiving Marie and I decided to make a bracelet for all the cousins and the Moms.  We made many trips to Ben Franklin to buy beads, bangles and wire.  We had so much fun together creating these bracelets and Marie enjoyed handing them out during Christmas.  Below are a few pictures of Marie working diligently as well as a group picture of the bracelets.  What fun we had together doing this project!
